The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), and the Penang Platform for Sustainable Urbanization (PPSU) organized the Second Regional Partners Forum ‘Accelerating Action for Sustainable Urbanization in Asia and the Pacific’. The forum convened five years after the adoption in Quito, Ecuador of the New Urban Agenda (NUA). It showcased activities of local and subnational authorities, national governments, civil society and other relevant stakeholders, and entities of the United Nations system. The event also included a session co-organized by UN-Habitat and UCLG titled "How to link SDG and territorial planning" in which UN-Habitat, UCLG, UCLG Sections and UN ESCAP actively participated.
