About the Event
The Government of Senegal, Italy and UN-Habitat will officially launch the Partnership Platform in Senegal on 5 December 2025, marking a key milestone in the joint effort to advance multilevel governance, SDG localization, and territorial transformation.
Key objectives
- Introduce the objective and value addition of the Partnership Platform on Localizing the SDGs to advance the implementation of Senegal’s vision and policies.
- Present the alignment between the Partnership Platform on Localizing the SDGs, UN-Habitat Strategic Plan, Local2030, and the Italian Environmental Cooperation priorities.
- Share, collect and discuss practices and lessons learned that can support the building of the National SDG Localization Framework in Senegal.
- Discuss priority areas of strategic interest for the development of catalytic projects and initiatives.
- Discuss the planning and activation of the national steering committee and technical committee, including a focal point from each relevant ministry, local governments, relevant stakeholders and UN Agencies.
- Discuss the roadmap for implementation of the activities on the ground.
- Raise awareness and sensitize participating cities and territorial poles toward the project’s process and objectives including the SDGs, policy coherence for sustainable development (PCSD) and multilevel-governance to support their planning, monitoring and budgeting exercises.
